Yippee for the first games of rugby for 2008!This week we played sevens at Northern's new ground (great ground, needed a GPS to get there though!)
Played Monash first, they were pretty slick (thanks to some PowerHouse blood...), then Northern (we suffered from a little of the usual 'oh sh*t its Northern woes...) and finished with a win over Box Hill. Everyone (new and old) played well and had a great time.
The most outstanding thing to see was that all teams had HEAPS of players, some newbies that have played before elsewhere and plenty of fresh blood also. There were no major injuries all round so all bodes well for a great season.
Next week its carnival time. Its 10's down at Southern and there is junior tournament down there too - so Golden Girls come on down for a good day out. PS: you may even find some of the whistle blowers in the juniors games a little familiar....
